GovSmart Recognized as One of Virginia Business’ 2026 Best Places to Work

Employee-driven recognition highlights GovSmart’s people-first “do what’s right” culture.

GovSmart is proud to announce it has been named one of Virginia Business’ 2026 Best Places to Work in Virginia in the Small Company category. The annual program recognizes employers across the Commonwealth that have created outstanding workplace cultures, with winners determined in large part by confidential employee feedback.

Founded in 2009 by Brent Lillard and Hamza Durrani, GovSmart began with two friends in a small space with a big vision—to transform the government IT procurement experience through exceptional service, integrity, and lasting partnerships.

Throughout its growth, GovSmart has remained true to the values that have defined the company from the beginning- doing what’s right before what’s easy, treating employees, customers, and partners with honesty, and standing behind its word. GovSmart was also honored to receive a congratulatory letter from U.S. Senator Mark R. Warner, recognizing the company’s selection as one of Virginia’s Best Places to Work and acknowledging the dedication of the GovSmart team. In his letter, Senator Warner commended GovSmart for fostering a workplace where employees feel “valued, heard, and inspired” and recognized the company’s commitment to employee engagement.
