Human Resources Director

This is a full-time on-site role for a Human Resources Specialist. The Human Resources Specialist will be responsible for managing HR policies, employee benefits, personnel management and ensuring HR compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. The Human Resources Specialist will act as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries related to HR programs and policies.

Responsibilities:

  • Human Resource knowledge – uses knowledge from various Human Resource disciplines to help identify their application and impact on the client’s business.
  • Processing and handling all employee medical leave benefits, FMLA, workers compensation, salary continuation, STD, LTD, reasonable accommodations, etc. Implements programs to enhance productivity and reduce liability through improved communications and HR practices. These include, but are not limited to, handbooks, job descriptions, performance appraisal systems, employee counseling, compensation plans, hiring processes, terminations, and programs.
  • Planning events such as Staff Appreciation Week, HR Quarterly Meetings/Celebrations, Service Awards, and other programs hosted by the HR Department with guidance from the CHRO and the Director of Human Resources.
  • Handling day-to-day staff inquiries regarding a variety of HR matters that arise.
  • Overseeing the staff employment verification process.
  • Generating and sorting information within databases and Excel spreadsheets.
  • Completing staff salary and payroll, in collaboration with accounting colleagues for submission.
  • Overseeing the maintenance of all electronic and physical personnel files.
  • Planning events such as Staff Appreciation Week, HR Quarterly Meetings/Celebrations, Service Awards, and other programs hosted by the HR Department with guidance from the CHRO and the Director of Human Resources.

Requirements:

  • Four-year college degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum two years of experience in human resources and experience with processing human resources data.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively.
  • Proven reliability, dependability, and motivation.
  • Excellent organizational and communications skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while exhibiting a strong attention to detail including exhibiting good judgement.
  • Exceptional internal/external client service.
  • Ability to handle a variety of tasks simultaneously.
  • Flexibility to work additional hours, as necessary.
  • Experience with employee benefits and benefits administration.
  • Experience in personnel management.
  • Microsoft Dynamics is a plus.

Hours:

40 hours per week

Location:

Charlottesville Preferred

Salary Range:

$60K-75K per year based on experience.
